The RSPCV like other organisations such as the RSPCA, was formed out of necessity to help prevent cruelty to other life forms that can't look after themselves especially when subjected to abuse from humans.
Our understanding of plant biology has grown, as a result scientists now know that plants too have feelings that need to be considered when picking them andmore importantly, before eating them.
Up until recently Vegetarians and Vegans only considered life forms such as animals when it came to deciding what can and can't be eaten without inflicting cruelty on another life form. This has led to double standards and some vegetarians although very judgemental to those who eat meat, have been known to show no thought or consideration to the feelings of the vegeatbles that they eat, often subjecting them to terrible torture before consuming them alive in some cases.
We now know that vegetables are living things with feelings. Often people who aren't used to handling vegetables have no idea that the vegetable might be in a state of pain or distress at having been ripped out of its bed and them thrown into a basket away from it's friends and family. It is often left for days and weeks with strangers of different varieties. Communication is difficult because unlike humans vegetables do not communicate using sound. They use subtle energy waves and sub audible thought waves that can only be heard if you tune into them.
Humans have become disconnected from the Earth and have lost the ability to communicate with plants. But just because they can't talk and walk, does not mean that they are not living things that need to be treated with respect.
In January this year RSPCV officers were called to a house in Glasgow where a whole group of so called raw foodists were caught red handed in an orgy of violence against vegetables. Raw carrots and spinach were being blended alive in a blender. Mangos were butchered up into chunks and bananas had there skins ripped off and were then broken into tiny pieces, often in front of other bananas. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Every second of every day a vegetable is being eaten alive with no concern for its wellbeing.
Under current laws RSPCV Officers cannot actually prosecute anyone for Vegetable Abuse but hopefully the EU with its ability to bring all sorts of stupid laws into effect, can do something soon before lots of other vegetables are harmed.
With Governments suggesting everyone eats 5 portions of fruit and veg a day, the size of the problem is getting worse all the time. Imported fruit and veg is often crammed into boxes without sunlight or fresh air for weeks on end. Farmers of animals have strict protocols as to how their live stock has to be treated, what it has to be fed and how it is killled. There are no such laws regarding the picking of vegetables and the killing of vegetables. Vegetables are living things, just the same as any other living thing and need to be treated with the same respect as animals.
If you see anyone treating a vegetable in a bad way, then call the RSPCV immediately...together we can stop vegetable cruelty forever!
THINK ONCE!
THINK TWICE!!
THINK VEGETABLES!!!
One thing people should keep in mind is the worrying upwardly developing habits of Venus Fly traps, which as everybody knows are Plants that eat meat in the form of insects. Scientists have now witnessed an increasingly insatiable appetite and the need to eat bigger and meatier creatures.
Surely it's only a matter of time before plants begin reaping their revenge on the human race?
